Regional EICR’s
Brief:
Following the introduction of new landlord electrical safety regulation in 2020 requiring all landlords to have an electrical safety inspection for all new and existing tenancies, Sacx were contracted by Leaders, the national estate agent to undertake electrical testing across the 14,000 properties they managed in the south of England.
What we did:
Our office team undertook the planning and scheduling of over 1000 properties. Some of the appointments needed to be scheduled urgently due to new tenants moving in. The team of engineers would carry these works out thoroughly, including photos alongside their accurate reports to be as transparent as possible to the client.
Challenges overcome: Our goal was to provide a satisfactory report to the client no later than 28 days from the instruction. This was sometimes difficult due to residents working or being unavailable or having to wait for the client to approve any quotes for thee remedial required. To try and overcome this, we had a system in place to ensure the tenant was kept up to date with appointments, and we were very open with our quotes and reports which built trust with the landlords which in turn enabled us to carry out pre-approved remedial works.
Outcome: Over the 12 months, Sacx ensured that over 1000 properties were electrically safe for the tenants and landlords to give them piece of mind and comply with legislation.
